Papa God, You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and I thank you for the persons you have placed in my life who have always been willing to see the truth of who I am, and to share that truth when I couldn’t see it myself, or even when I was unwilling to hear it. Help me today O God to discern between healthy truth and unhealthy deception, between those who speak and stand for truth, and those who ask me to look into broken mirrors. Strengthen me too, that I may not only be willing to see the truth in others, but to share it with them as well, with charity and compassion.
Preserve me today O God as I take refuge in you. Father may I never grow indifferent or insensitive either to the cries of those around me, or your constant pleadings with me to come away and rest for a while. Give me the grace and humility required to detach myself from that which so consumes me that I become possessed by them. Free me today instead O God, that I may serve you steadfastly with my entire body, heart, mind, and soul.
