O God of the Resurrection, you have power over life and death, over darkness and light. Come from the four winds today and disperse the shadow of death over this land. Renew and strengthen our spirits O God that we may confront the scourge of death and darkness that is before us. May the faith of all of us who believe in you be enough to cause an end to the carnage on our roads and the murders that abound. May we who see this new day be ever thankful for the gift of life, and do everything we can do to glorify you through our lives. Guard, guide and govern our days until the end O God, and at our last breath, bring us safely home to you, the God of our salvation.

O Liberating God, thank you for the freedom you offer to those who trust and believe in you. Sometimes it’s easier and less painful O God to continue living with the demons, living with my sins, rather than be confronted with the light of your truth. Strengthen me today O God, that I may be willing to walk away from my demons and instead invite you to take possession of my life. Unbind the shackles of my arrogance, my insecurities, and my impatience, that I will be free to love, free to forgive, and free to serve my family, friends and co-workers until my last day. When that day comes O God, welcome me I pray, into the joy of your kingdom.
