Take my hands today O Lord, and make them as your own. Use them to build your kingdom here on this earth. Humble me that I may fashion myself more and more into your likeness Father. You were a servant, make me one too. I’m willing Lord but sometimes it gets difficult, especially when people take that service for granted, when I feel used, or when my willingness to serve is taken as a sign of weakness. Walk with me today Father, that I may learn there is strength in weakness and power in service. And when my days end, may I come face to face with you, my Suffering Servant.

Papa God you are the author of my life, it was you who formed me in my mother’s womb and nurtured me to be the person I am today. Let me never lose sight of that O God, and my complete reliance on you for all that I have and all that I am. Humble me Father that I can be an example of your love, and a witness to the mercy and grace you continue to shower upon me. May my life O God be a demonstration of your compassion, your forgiveness and your own willingness to sacrifice so that others might live. And when my today is over, bring me, please, to that place of unimaginable peace.

O merciful God, thank you for the privilege of seeing this new day. Be with me today O God, that I can be as merciful to others as you have been to me, as wiling and ready to forgive as you have repeatedly forgiven me, and as generous with my family, friends and co-workers as you have been with your love and your grace. It’s so hard at times O God to continue giving, to continue forgiving and loving, when I reach the point where I feel I have nothing more to give. Increase my faith and strengthen me that I may walk through the valleys of hurt and disappointment, trusting that there is always a new day to come. And when my life is over O God, may I enjoy forever the company of your saints.

Celebrate the success of others as though it is your own. As you do, you will bring success to you.Be glad for people when they win;because you have no idea what they’ve been through when they were losing.Don’t be jealous of someone who’s more successful than you.It’s unfair on them. And unfair on you.Instead, learn from them. Thank you Papa God that I can open my eyes to this new day. Father it is you who willed me into being and called me to enter into relationship with you. Humble me today that I may seek always to strengthen my relationship with you and with my family, friends and co-workers. Help me to look past my own pettiness and pride, my anger and resentment, and see instead the need to be reconciled with those who have hurt me. Give me your strength that I will seek to forgive rather than carry grudges, to reach out rather than move away, to build bridges rather than barriers. Give me the grace I need to open my arms to those I would rather keep away from. And when my days are over O God, let my encounter with you be one of complete and utter joy.
