Papa God, you are God of heaven and earth. It is you who caused the sun to rise this morning and who will cause the moon to show itself tonight. And yet Father, there are times when I stray from your path and make things and people into my God. Increase my faith today that I may follow no other God but you, that nothing shall so consume me, that I will ever be distracted from serving you, or declaring that you are God. Give me today a spirit of detachment that I may be able to let go of anything that takes me away from your path, no matter how enticing or attractive. And when my days are finally over O God, may I find eternal rest with you.
