Gracious God, thanks for waking me up this morning. Give me today a spirit of contentment, that I will be truly grateful for all the blessings I have received. Help me to distinguish between greed and ambition O God, that I may always strive to become the person you created me to be, but not at the expense of others. Humble me Father, that I may never be envious of another person’s success or achievements, but learn rather to rejoice with them and celebrate their accomplishments. Give me the wisdom to learn that my candle does not shine brighter by dimming the lights of others, but rather that it is our collective lights, wisdom and talents that will change the darkness.
