Papa God, you are God of the living and the dead. Today I bring before you all my relatives, family, friends, coworkers and classmates who have gone to sleep in the hope of rising again. I know of none who was so intrinsically evil that they are not deserving of seeing your face, but even that is not my call to make. I know you are not finished with me yet O God, and there is still a long road ahead for me to achieve holiness. Just as you have mercy on me everyday O God, I pray your mercy, compassion and forgiveness on those who have died. May our collective prayers today, bring them closer to you.
