O God of mercy and compassion, look with favour on us, your children, as we enter this new day. Increase our faith today O God, and our patience with ourselves and each other, that even as we anticipate your arrival, we may not allow our arrogance and selfishness to reign. Tame our rush to judgement over others O God, and increase instead our willingness to look within to discover anew the purity of heart and gentleness of spirit, with which we have been blessed by you.
